First Due Working Garage Fire
Sunday, January 23, 2022

At approximately 8:44 this morning Station 51, along with mutual aid companies and agencies, were alerted for a reported working garage fire with exposure to a home in the 5000 block of Halltown Rd. With in a couple minutes Command 51 arrived on location and confirmed the report of a working alarm. Engine 51-2 arrived on location next and assumed the first due engine assignment. 51-2’s crew deployed two hand-lines and started extinguishing the bulk of the fire in the garage and the home. As additional crews arrived on location units started working together to continue extinguishment of the fire and perform searches. Crews from Hartly (51), Marydel (56), Dover (46), Camden (41) and Goldsboro (700) worked for approximately an hour and a half before clearing the call. Assistant Chief D. Fox had Command. A special thanks goes out to Clayton Fire Company (45) for standing by at our station while our units worked at this alarm. Photos courtesy of individuals on scene.
